Why hire a whole venue for Christmas?
A Christmas party in a shared hotel or restaurant means set menus, other parties at the next table and a rush for taxis at midnight. Hiring a whole venue changes all of that. You get your own dining room for the feast, your own space for the party and bedrooms upstairs, so nobody has to leave early and everyone is there for breakfast the next morning.
We have 76 Christmas party venues across the UK, including Dreamstone Castle in Swansea, Pulborough Estate in Pulborough and Toft Estate in Leek. Each one is booked by a single group at a time.
Company Christmas parties
For a corporate Christmas party, a private venue makes the evening feel like a proper thank-you. Start with drinks by the fire, sit down to a long-table dinner in a grand dining room, then move on to the music and games room. Teams who stay over can carry on the celebration into a relaxed breakfast, and you can add a meeting or awards on the day if you like. Our corporate venues page covers team building and away days too.
Family Christmas and New Year
A whole house is perfect for bringing the family together at Christmas. There is space for everyone to cook, eat and relax together, from the grandparents to the youngest children, without anyone having to host. Many groups book from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day, or over New Year for a party that nobody has to travel home from. Games rooms, hot tubs and big grounds for a Boxing Day walk give everyone something to enjoy between the meals.
Festive touches
Large fireplaces, high ceilings for a real tree and long dining tables make exclusive use houses feel made for Christmas. Many groups bring in a private chef or caterer for the Christmas dinner, hire a band or DJ for the party, and add festive extras such as wreath-making or a carol singer. Check each venue’s rules on decorations, candles and music before you plan.
How many people can stay?
Our Christmas party venues sleep between 4 and 80 people, and 15 of them sleep 30 or more. Many have plenty of bedrooms, so larger teams and families can stay together. Extra guests can often join for the party itself – check the limit with our team, and use the Sleeps filter above to see the venues big enough for your group.
Catering and drinks
Many of our venues are self-catering, so you can choose the food and drink that suits your party – from a traditional turkey dinner to a festive buffet or street food. Our team can recommend caterers and private chefs who know each venue, so the feast is taken care of while you enjoy the evening.
Christmas party ideas
Beyond a classic dinner and dance, a private venue opens up plenty of options. Try a festive murder mystery evening, a casino night, a cocktail masterclass or a winter walk followed by mulled wine by the fire. Families might plan a Christmas Eve film night, a Boxing Day treasure hunt or a New Year’s Eve party with fireworks where the venue allows. Our team can point you to entertainers and activity companies who know each house.
When to book
December is the busiest month of the year for party venues, and the Friday and Saturday nights before Christmas go first. Christmas and New Year themselves are also popular for family stays. Book as early as you can – and if your dates are flexible, midweek nights in early December or January parties are easier to find and usually cost less.
