Why choose a venue with a hot tub or pool?
A hot tub or pool turns a wedding into a proper weekend away. It gives guests something to enjoy before the ceremony and a lazy way to recover the morning after, and it keeps the celebration going long after the last dance. For many couples the hot tub under the stars after the wedding breakfast is one of the moments they remember most.
We have 13 wedding venues with a hot tub or pool, including Pulborough Estate in Pulborough, Toft Estate in Leek and Greenwood Estate in Hailsham. Each one is hired by a single couple at a time, so the hot tub or pool is only ever shared with your own guests.
Hot tubs, indoor pools and outdoor pools
The facilities vary from house to house. Some venues have a hot tub on a terrace or in the garden, ready for the whole stay; at a few the hot tub is available at extra cost, so check when you enquire. Others have an indoor swimming pool that can be used whatever the weather, or an outdoor pool that comes into its own in the summer months. Each venue page lists exactly what is included.
How many guests can stay?
Our venues with a hot tub or pool sleep between 16 and 53 people, and six of them sleep 30 or more. The bedrooms usually go to the wedding party and close family, while other guests stay in hotels, inns or cottages nearby. Use the Sleeps filter above to see only the venues big enough for your group.
Safety and house rules
Water and celebrations need a little planning. Most venues set times for using the hot tub or pool, and many ask that glassware stays away from the water. Children should always be supervised, and some houses close the pool during the evening reception. Our team will share each venue’s rules before you book so there are no surprises on the day.
Planning your wedding weekend
Most couples book from Friday to Sunday. Friday is for arriving, unpacking and a relaxed welcome dinner or barbecue with everyone who is staying. Saturday is the wedding, with a slow start for getting ready and no one needing to travel. Sunday brings a long breakfast or brunch, a walk and time to relive the day together before everyone heads home.
Having everyone under one roof also makes the practical side simpler: suppliers know where to come, the wedding party is never far away, and there is no rush to leave at the end of the night. Our team can help you plan the timings and point you to suppliers who know the venue.
Getting married at the venue
In England and Wales, a venue needs a wedding licence to host the legal ceremony on site. Venues showing Wedding Licence or Wedding Receptions host weddings today. Where a house is not licensed, many couples hold the legal ceremony at a nearby register office or church and a personal, symbolic ceremony at the venue in front of everyone. In Scotland, an authorised celebrant can marry you at almost any venue.
Costs and when to book
One price covers the whole venue, its bedrooms and facilities such as the hot tub or pool, so the cost compares well with a hotel wedding plus spa access for guests. Prices depend on the venue, the season, the day of the week and the number of nights. Summer weekends book up first – enter your dates above to see which venues are free.
