Set next to the famous Roaches Rocks, Roaches Hall is one of our flagship venues rich in history. A Victorian hunting lodge dating back to the 1800’s, it was once owned by Sir Philip Brocklehurst and used as his private zoo. From Yaks to Wallabies the Roaches were the home to all manner of interesting creatures brought back from his ventures across the world.
Nowadays Roaches Hall has been adopted to a wonderful self catering venue for 30 guests. This country house in the peak district has walks straight from the front door over Hen Cloud and onto the Roaches Rocks, world famous for its hikes and rock climbing. Furthermore, most of its windows offer a gorgeous views of the Peak District in all its beauty.
Reception rooms and dining
There is a large dining room that can sit 34 guests, with easy access to a kitchen where the budding chefs in your group can cook up a lovely meal for everyone. As this is a self-catering property you’re also welcomed to bring a caterer on-site. They’ll be able to do the cooking, serving, and cleaning up, so you don’t have to lift a finger but just enjoy your evening.
For relaxing, this exclusive use venue in the Peak District has a large dining room with a big LCD TV, comfy chesterfield sofas, and incredible views onto the Peak District. There is also a second smaller lounge where you will find a pool table, and a downstairs mini Xbox snug for the kids to play some games. Finally you will find that there is a table football, outdoor table tennis table, and lots of books and DVDs at the venue.
Recently a state of the art Ohm music system has been put in place allowing each individual social room to have it’s own surround system, which can be connected to any other room. Allowing multiple parties in multiple rooms.
Bedrooms
The Hall itself has 13 uniquely styled bedrooms, of those 5 of the bedrooms are doubles, 6 are twins and 2 are quads. This will provide you and your guests with 25 individual beds, which is perfect for corporate, yoga, and hiking retreats. This large country house also comes with 11 bath/shower rooms.
Outside & Local Area
For those that enjoy the great outdoors, you’ll love outstanding natural beauty of Roaches Hall’s surroundings. Visit the gorgeous Roaches Rocks which are just a 15 minute hike from the house. You’ll be amazed by the spectacular view of the entire Peak District. Find about more about local walks.
Roaches Hall has its own private garden with space to set up activities such as Archery or Lazor Clay Pigeon shooting, feel free to ask us and we can make some recommendations.
Weddings
If you’re looking for a country house wedding venue, look no further! This charming property, set in the midst of the stunning Peak District, offers a lovely wedding setting. While the venue accommodates 30 guests, you’re welcome to have 30 extra day guests onsite for a total of 60 wedding guests. While the dining room sits 36 guests, its lovely grounds offer space for a marquee.
Although Roaches Hall doesn’t come with a wedding license here, it is perfect for hosting a wedding reception. Not to worry, there are many local churches and registry offices in the area.
