Function Rooms:

The retreat building was in medieval times a pair of cottages for workers looking after the main estate which of course, has now been remodelled to a luxury self-catering holiday cottage. This venue sleeps 12 guests across 6 bedrooms and can dine up to 30 guests.

In the retreat building, the Drawing Room is a peaceful and cosy room which features original oak beams poking through the low ceiling and a wood-burning stove for cosying up on Winter evenings. The American oak dining table dines up to 14 people but there are also 2 additional oak round tables which can sit 8 each, enabling you to dine a total of 32 guests in one room.

All bedrooms have comfortable mattresses, soft duvets, sheets, and towels for the perfect nights sleep. There are 5 bathrooms across the whole property.

The smaller Cottage comes with 3 bedrooms, with a large open kitchen and reception area. The dining area accommodates six people, and the reception area offers comfortable sofas and a flat-screen TV. Moreover, the ceiling window allows ample natural light to flood in, while the glass double door creates a seamless transition from the interior to the exterior.

Outside, you’ll discover a BBQ, an outdoor dining space and beautiful gardens with play equipment for children perfect for relaxing summer’s evening.

Bedrooms:

Across the two cottages there are 9 bedrooms in total furnished with very comfortable mattresses, soft duvets, light linen sheets and towels to provide the most comfort and relaxation during your stay at Chinese Elm Estate.

In the main cottage you will find, a super king sized 4 poster bed, in bedroom 2 a cosy double, bedroom 3 is a queen size bed and bedroom 4 with a double bedroom with ensuite. Bedroom 5 can be used as another double or twin room with ensuite bathroom. Bedroom 5 is a double room and the last bedrooms are twins that can be zipped together to make double beds. One of these rooms is accessibly friendly with wheelchair width access.

In the smaller cottage you will find, a ground floor twin bedroom and a wet room and rails (separated by a corridor) and on the first-floor a double room and another double that can be made into a twin. 

Extras:

The estate’s location and distance from other houses makes it a great venue to enjoy your privacy and relaxation throughout the 22 acres which is also pet friendly so your fluffy friends won’t miss a moment of fun. The Cottage has been awarded levels M1 and M2 for accessibility which means it is suitable for older and less mobile guests and part-time wheelchair users.
