Standing proudly on a hill near the border city of Carlisle, Lakeside Hall sits a 10 minute drive away from the UNESCO site of Hadrian’s Wall and this property will transport you back to the Edwardian times. This splendid home offers fantastic views over the Solway Plain and provides a base from which to explore the Lake District, Hadrian’s Wall and Southern Scotland. The house finished being built in 1915 but has been continuously worked on and still features original furnishing such as taps and bathtubs
Lakeside Hall sleeps 21 guests across 9 bedrooms and welcomes plenty of different groups including small intimate weddings and even your furry friends are invited. Lakeside Hall served as a family home before opening to holiday rental so you are sure to feel that this venue is a home from home due to the comfortable décor and extensive gardens.
Throughout the grounds you’ll find secret paths with fruit bushes and a small orchard. There is a children’s fun area adjacent to the driveway with a trampoline and a slack wire for hours of entertainment. There is something for everyone at this venue which is near many places of interest such as the Lake District where you could hire a boat or brace yourself for cold water dips in a nearby waterfall.

The reception rooms in this Lake District accommodation are cosy and large windows allow plenty of daylight to enter. The open fireplace will make sure you and your guests are warm during the winter months, and the sofas are perfect to sink into after a long day of exploring the outstanding Cumbria countryside.
The kitchen has plenty of amenities and guests are invited to cook up their own meals or bring in third party suppliers that can be arranged with the owner. The dining room follows from the living room where guests are encouraged to indulge together with seating for 24. Guests are also able to organise deliveries from local butchers and fruit and vegetable shops to ensure the freshest ingredients for hosting.
The garden boasts a large patio area with BBQ and you can arrange a hot tub to be on site upon request with views of the mountains. In the garage you will also find a table tennis and dart board for more entertainment.

For the brave, feel free to take a dip in the river nearby and keep an eye out for otters and kingfishers during the warmer summer months – wetsuits are provided by the house.
